Palladium

A platinum-group metal hallmarked in the UK since 2009. Lighter than platinum and naturally white, so unlike white gold it needs no rhodium plating.
| Property | Value | Authority |
|---|---|---|
| Fineness | 500 parts per 1,000 [1] Lowest of the three UK palladium standards; 950 and 999 are also recognised. | Sch. 2 Pt. 1 para. 2 |
| US legal requirement | Palladium is named as one of the six Platinum Group Metals in 16 CFR 23.6(a), but UK-style fineness standards for it come from the Hallmarking Act, not the FTC Guides. [1] | Sch. 2 Pt. 1 para. 2 |
